Game and flames have teamed up with Tim Pilbeam to create an unique hunter-gather package, one of a kind here in the UK. Overview. Our experience day is tailored to absolute beginners (those who have never shot a rifle before) and experienced shots. The price includes hospitality, range time, and butchery, plus £50 worth of venison to take home. Our maximum course participants are 10. The group will be split into two groups of 5, alternating between venison butchery and preparation, and the simulated deer stalking experience. At lunchtime, the team will come together to enjoy a delicious venison feast prepared by our chef. leaving you refreshed and ready for the second part of your day. The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of deer management, from the field to the table. Using your skills to get close to your quarry, taking in account of wind direction, visibility and composure. Experienced instructors will guide you through the process of shooting safely to taking you on the open hill to fire at life sized deer targets in as close to a realistic situation you will get without firing towards live quarry. The butchery process is designed to bring you closer to your food, locating each cuts of venison and understanding the best way to cook and prepare the meat. This is truly an exciting and unique course. The day 8.45am meet at our location in East Sussex for coffee and bacon rolls. Here we will have a talk with an overview of deer management and our 6 UK species 9.30am teams depart for shooting / butchering 1pm Venison feast lunch and refreshments 2pm Teams depart for their second session of shooting/butchery. 5pm course finishes.
